About

Hi there, I’m Kyla! I graduated from Califoarnia State University Fullerton with my BFA in Illustration. I’ve worked professionally as a graphic designer and illustrator for 8 years and currently reside in Portland, OR. My design services include: branding, brand refreshes, design for print materials, web, social media, and more.

As an illustrator, I use watercolor and ink to create natural science illustrations to explore the life cycle, document local plants, animals, mushrooms, and more. I’m inspired by 19th and early 20th century works by botanical illustrators and my outdoor travels here in the PNW. I hope my work brings a deeper sense of connection to the natural world.

I participate and travel for markets weekly throughout the year. Find me at the Portland Saturday Market (at the waterfront) every Saturday. I have also sold my work at the Crafty Wonderland Holiday Market, Renegade Seattle, Urban Craft Uprising, and Portland Night Market. My stockists include: Backyard Bird Shop, Blind Insect Gallery, Bird Alliance of Oregon (formerly Portland Audubon), The Terrorium Shop, and more.

It’s important to me as a small business to support my fellow local businesses so all of my work is created and printed in Portland.
